I haven't been able to spend much time at the easel lately but I plan to be back at it next week and posting more often. This is the last new painting I have until I get back to work. I love that time of day when it's almost, but not quite dark, and the lights start to come on.

On The Road

I'll be in beautiful Fairhope, Alabama next weekend, March 13,14,and 15th for the Eastern Shore Art Center's annual outdoor show. I'll have a lot of new work I've done since my last show, including this diptych. This is my first time to do this show but I've heard great things about it. Although this isn't an actual place, I feel like I've seen it before. There's such a feeling of space....and isolation in the country. This house looks like it may be abandoned, soon to be replaced by a doublewide.

The Face On the Wall

Something a little different, a detail from a building on First Avenue. I haven't quite captured the expression on the face as it should be more sinister.

This is one of the commissions I was working on for Christmas. A smaller piece that captures their favorite part of their house and the shadows cast by a huge oak in the front yard. This one went to Memphis, Tennessee.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to paint all the bright colors in these umbrellas. I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted anything. I've been busy getting ready for all the upcoming Fall shows. Artwalk in downtown Birmingham starts tomorrow, Friday Sept. 8, 5:00pm - 10pm, and Saturday noon -6:00. I'll be in Lindsay Office Furnishings, 1st Ave. North.
